Conclusion
With the historical records and prior zoning maps, it is explicitly clear that the study area experienced significant gentrification prior to the construction of the high Line. However, the results of this research indicate that this gentrification has essentially stagnated over the last decade. Apart from modest increases in income and ambiguous changes to home values, the results do not suggest significant gentrification over the last decade. There have been no noteworthy changes in industrial composition or racial composition. In the last ten years, it appears as if the study area remained home to affluent professionals. This could be attributed to the massive economic expansion in the 1990s. Nonetheless, the construction of the High Line Park marked an important shift in the overall character of these Chelsea neighborhoods. What was once an eyesore is now hailed as one of the most innovative parks in the U.S.
